With the aim of ensuring the participation of children in the field of waste management, Haritha Sabha will be organized in the local institutions of the state on Children's Day. Around two lakh students will participate in the Haritasabha, which is organized as part of the Garbage Free Navakerala People's Campaign. Depending on the number of schools within the corporation limits, multiple Haritha Sabhas will be organized. 200 children are part of a Harithasabha with equal ratio of male and female. Teachers, who are currently the nodal officers responsible for coordinating sanitation and waste management activities in schools, will also be a part of this assembly on Children's Day. The students elected from the schools to the Haritha Sabha will evaluate the situation related to waste management in their respective local self-government areas and prepare a report and present it to the council. Matters such as accurate observations of waste management activities in the school, methods of waste management, problems of burning and dumping of waste, use of banned plastic products, existing challenges and problems in the field of liquid waste management will be discussed in the Haritha Sabha. The Children's Haritha Sabha will managed by N.S.S. volenteer students of classes 11 and 12 elected from among themselves.
Children's Haritasabha will utilize the services of resource persons from Haritha Keralam Mission, Sanitation Mission, Kila, RGSA etc. The local self-governing bodies will also present a report on the complaints regarding the activities and systems carried out by the local self-governing body in the field of waste management and the actions taken by the local self-governing body on each complaint. The students participating in the presentation will also be given an opportunity to ask questions to the people's representatives. Haritha Sabha is organized from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm. The Harita Sabha will be organized on November 18 in the local institutions where the sub-district arts festival is held. Children's Harithasabha is organized completely following green protocol.
