With the aim of making the state garbage-free, the public campaign for Garbage-free New Kerala, organized by the Government through Haritha Keralam Mission, Sanitation Mission, Kudumbashree, Kerala Solid Waste Management Project, State Pollution Control Board, Clean Kerala Company, etc., has got off to a great start across the state. Ministers and people's representatives started the campaign at various levels. After the state level inauguration of the campaign at Kottarakkara in Kollam district by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Ministers and people's representatives at district levels and other local self-government bodies started the camp. Inaugurating the Ernakulam district level at the Eloor Municipal Town Hall, Industry Minister P. Rajeev said that the goal is to make Kerala number one in sanitation management. The Malappuram district level campaign was inaugurated by Sports Minister V. Abdurahiman. Water Resources Minister Roshi Augustine inaugurated the Idukki district level campaign in a function held at the Idukki Medical College. The minister said that public responsed should be organized against littering in public places. More than 500 people participated in the mega cleaning conducted at the medical college in connection with the event.  In Kottayam, Cooperative, Port and Devaswom Minister V.N. Vasavan inaugurated the district level campaign.   Revenue Minister K. Rajan inaugurated the Thrissur district level inauguration. Minister declared 469 schools in the district as Harita Vidyalaya (Green schools). Pathanamthitta district level inauguration was done by Health Minister Veena George. Kozhikode district level inauguration was done by Revenue Department Minister K. Rajan.  Another programme organized at Koyilandy was inaugurated by Kanathil Jameela MLA. Along with this, 26 surveillance cameras installed in the municipality were inaugurated. District Panchayat President Baby Balakrishnan performed the Kasaragod district level inauguration by declaring the civil station as a green office. Palakkad district level inauguration by declaring Mangalam Dam site park as green tourism center by Alathur MLA K.D.Prasenan. Wayanad district level inauguration was performed by  inaugurating National Highway NH 766 beautification at Krishnagiri by Sulthan Bathery MLA I.C. Balakrishnan.    Minister of Agriculture  P. Prasad  inaugurated  the Alappuzha district level campaign by Inaugurating the liquid waste treatment plant at Alappuzha General Hospital. Thiruvananthapuram district level inauguration was done by  O.S. Ambika  in Kilimanoor. Three inaugural programs were organized in Kannur district. District Panchayat President PP Divya inaugurated the Sanitation project of Peravoor Block Panchayat.  Registration Department Minister Ramachandran Kadanapalli inaugurated the completed Resource Recovery Facility Center in Edakkad Block Panchayat Peralassery Gram Panchayat. Kerala Legislative Assembly Speaker Shamseer inaugurated four sanitation projects including the beautification program of Kathirur town in Kathirur Gram Panchayat. Inauguration of 1601 activities in the area of waste management at various block -grama panchayat and ward levels across the state was also held today. Inauguration of 545 completed infrastructure facilities, inauguration of beautification works in 232 areas of 203 beautification areas, inauguration of green tourism activities in 36 centers, declaration of green office of 150 local self-government bodies, declaration of all schools as green schools in 16O local bodies were also held today. Apart from this, various sanitation and waste management activities will also be started in 8678 wards in the state this week.
