Minister M.B.Rajesh said that the non-organic waste management activities through the local self-government bodies of the state have been intensified. Haritha Karma Sena has been formed in all local self-government bodies. Door-to-door waste collection is being done through them. About 80 percent of the local self-government bodies are using the Harithamithram mobile application, an online monitoring system to monitor this. The minister made this clear in reply to a question in the assembly. Ward level Mini MCFs, 1209 Material Collection Facilities and 141 Resource Recovery Facilities for recycling plastic waste are also operational for proper waste management.
