Local Self-Government Minister M.B. said that the project allocation of local self-governing institutions that do not do waste management effectively will be cut. The Minister inaugurated the various projects completed by Kottayam Madapalli Block Panchayat which are included in the annual plan 2023-24.  Fines will be levied not only on individuals who manage waste negligently, but also on local bodies. The minister also said that the amount of reduction in the project allocation will be transferred to the local self-government bodies which are involved in waste disposal in a good manner. Local bodies have been instructed to install CCTV cameras wherever possible.
